University Lecturers Campaigning For John Mahama?

Some University of Ghana lecturers including my very good friend Abdul Karim took it upon themselves to openly canvass for support for John Mahama and the NDC on the streets of Accra on Tuesday. This is unprecedented, and the reason is simple. Ghana is facing an unprecedented hardship never experienced before by anyone alive since independence in 1957. We have never been in a situation where a whole minister of state steals state money, hides it under her bed, get caught and the president of the land congratulates her for being a smart thief*. This is why even lecturers are on the street campaigning for NDC to return to power.

We have never been in a situation where the dollar to the cedi ratio jumps from ¢3.8 to 16.5 in just 7 years. We have never been in a situation where a loaf of sugar bread jumps from ¢5 to ¢15 and above in just 7 years of maladministration, theft and corruption. We have never been in a situation where a ball of kenkey jumps from ¢1 to 4 cedi and above.

This kind of hardship would have warranted a military intervention under any scenario, but for one reason and one reason only we still enjoy peace. John Mahama is loved; John Mahama is trusted; John Mahama has integrity. He is truthful. He is viewed by many Ghanaians as a man with a messiahnistic mission to save the situation for Ghanaians. He is the only reason why there is no coup detat in Ghana, unlike Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.

Now, hear me out fellow citizens, even lecturers are out on the street campaigning for John Mahama, what are you waiting for? Tell 10 people in a day to vote for NDC and see the difference? In 30 days, you must have convinced 300 people. If a 1000 of us convince 10 people a day, do the calculation. If a million of us speak to 10 people a day, we may cover the entire 30 million population of Ghana.

Fellow citizens, the alternative is John Mahama; the alternative is super competent; the alternative can fix our problems. Thank you all!
