The Unblemished Third John

 

Listening to John Mahama in 2024, one could see a man who is passionate about youth unemployment which has bedevilled nation particularly in the last 7 years; one could see a man who is passionate about women empowerment; one could sense a man who is passionate about the security and protection of journalists such as Manasseh and Anas; one could sense a man who has deep love for Ghana. The NPP administration has benefited a lot from his policy of consistent verification of workers payslips which has to a large extent cleaned the payroll and rooted out corruption.

This John Mahama promised to fix our perennial dumsor dumsor which hitherto was an albatross hanging around the necks of every president who preceded him due to our over reliance on Hydro Electric Power and he did it by introducing alternative power generators. The NPP has added nothing. 

This John Mahama pledged to build 200 Community Day Senior High Schools to prepare the grounds for a free senior high school education in Ghana and he did it. The community day schools were precursor to free SHS. Unfortunately, he lost power and "yaanom" came to power and messed up everything "potorrr". 

This same John Mahama prioritized the construction of hospitals in addition to schools and he built a great number of them. Yaanom only came to dig a pit, called it a cathedral and stole millions of dollars meant for the cathedral project.

Not forgetting his well known support for Muslims and zongo community. I recall Mahama's famous statement in Parliament where he threw his support behind wearing of hijab by nurses at the work place. That was something unforgettable. My wife is able to wear her hijab confidently at the hospital today thanks to Allah and Mahama. The reason why I am mentioning this is that it is clear that religious affiliation has no place in secular politics. Otherwise, why would a Christian John Mahama support Muslims more than a Muslim Bawumiah?  I will answer this question for Sheik Nuamah and those playing the religious card. Mahama has developed credibility, Bawumiah has none. 

Mahama's credibility is unblemished. He has built a formidable reputation as a nation builder, a development oriented person and a faithful Christian. You will never see him at a shrine no matter what.
