Agama snubs funeral of Nani at Abendada in New Tondoria

Politics of Deceit, Betrayal and Unkept Promises

Chapter 10 ( part one)
**

(The Aki and Popo family are known NDC family at Abendada in New Tondoria electoral area. Aki and Popo are two brothers who can be described as key loyalists of Agama. They lost their sister who recently voted for Agama and the NDC in December 7. The whole Abendada community turned out for the funeral. All eyes are on two reserved seats)

Popo: It seems the seats are not enough. Let me order extra chairs. (Sufficient chairs are brought in almost at the blink of an eye)

Aki: (eyes teary) I can't believe my little sister is really dead? Wow! This life is not fair. Unbelievable! Hmmm!

Little Fly: Don't cry bro! Be strong! We love Nani but God loves her more.

(NDC executives and functionaries are present including an immediate past MCE for Tondoria and a former deputy regional Women's Organiser for GA. Two reserved seats are still unoccupied. All funeral rites completed. Nani's remains are conveyed to the cemetery. It's now midday. We are now at the final stage of the funeral rites, yet Agama and Maame Gyata are not seen)

Adwoa: Little Fly! Little Fly! Come here! Where do you think you are going? (Adwoa is the deputy women's organiser for Tondoria. She is full of smiles and can really be annoying sometimes. Someone Adwoa called Aguzu, upon hearing the chant of Little Fly, fakes a prank call and begins to vacate the funeral ground but Adwoa stops him and mocks him that he is definitely Aguzu from his over reaction at the sight of someone she refers to as Little Fly. The supposed Aguzu turns around, fakes a smile, fakes a hi and gives a filmsy excuse only to escape from the funeral ground. The sins of men will follow them everywhere.

Little Fly: My sister, I am around. Anyway, I am not Little Fly. Little Fly is an imaginary character, not real person please. Thank you

Adwoa: Oh stop that! You are Little Fly. By the way, I have not seen Agama around? Was he here earlier or something?

Little Fly: I don't know anyone in real life called Agama. Anyway, any semblance to that name has not been here. I can attest to that. I have been here since 7 am and I have not seen any sign of him. In fact, if you like, let's bet. He will not attend this funeral. This is characteristic of him. He never appreciates those who sacrifice for him. In his little thinking, he thinks the only way to appreciate people is to give them some small money. He will not come. I trust my instincts.

Adwoa: Maybe he visited the family at home. Maybe he gave huge sum of money towards the funeral. You and I were not there.

Little Fly: Have you forgotten this is my hood? Come on! Agama has not stepped foot in this area since our sister passed on in December shortly after the elections. He has not visited the bereaved family, and trust me he will never do it. He will betray Aki and Popo now that they need him most. Agama is a selfish, insensitive egoistic dude. All that matter is Agama the Big Lizard. Everyone, everything, all Tondoria must bow down to him.

(NDC executives leave the funeral ground)

Popo: (Popo at home, thinking about the events of the day. flashback to December 7) My sister loved the NDC like no other. She loved Agama. She couldn't even sleep on the eve of the election 2024 because she couldn't stand Agama and the NDC losing. Sadly, she is gone forever. She did not even reap the benefits of power. Young soul, rest in peace! Rest well Nani! Rest well good soul! Rest well my sister, till we meet again! 😭

Little Fly: Life is not fair indeed! If someone had told me that Agama and his wife would be visibly absent from a funeral of the family of Aki and Popo, I would not have believed it. Not only were them absent, they did not condole and console the parents of the deceased. This was deliberate! Both of them were given separate invitations which they acknowledged.

Gosh! Agama always betray his key loyalists. Added to the list is our late sister, Nani. When I say Agama will show each and everyone of you his true colour, you think I am joking. All of you, your turn will come one after the other. Agama will teach you a lesson of your life.
