Agama the Big Lizard and the Little Fly

Book Title: Politics of Deceit, Betrayal and Unkept Promises

Author: Paramza Kofi Hamza

Chapter 1

Agama the Big Lizard: You are my right hand man, my chief advisor and my future Eugene Arhin. I know right now I can't pay you for your sacrifices but when I win my position, I will compensate you appropriately for your hard work and sacrifices. Don't worry at all bro.

(Rain or shine Little Fly followed Agama for years serving him diligently until he won his election. Little Fly served without pay or any agreed allowance. Occasionally, Agama's wife would phone Little Fly to enquire about her husband's whereabouts if she was unable to reach him. The victory came and for two months, Agama the Big Lizard did not communicate with Little Fly. Finally, Agama the Big Lizard invited Little Fly to his house.

In the ensuing meeting, Agama the Big Lizard made more promises).

Agama the Big Lizard: Bro, I want you to work in my office. In fact, I will get you a car. It is not fair for you to use your own car to run errands for me. Tell me what you want and I will do it for you. (Agama the Big Lizard sounds quite serious though with mischievous look which has been his stock of trade).

Little Fly: Bro, all I want is a good job with good income. As a man, I want to be able to take good care of my wife and children. I will be glad if you help me in that regard.

(Two months later)

Little Fly: (soliloquying) I have not heard from my boss in a while. What is going on? In fact, I don't even know what to write on his social media platforms. Hmmm! Okay, I will be posting quotations to keep his handles active in the meantime. I think it's about time I visit OUR new office. Why hasn't boss invited me to work there? Ah well! I think I should go there myself.

(One day Little Fly decided to visit THEIR new office in Parliament, only to be introduced to the new staff who neither resided in their constituency nor were they known to him or the constituents).

To be continued...
