Chapter 11 Politics of Deceit, Betrayal and Unkept Promises  (It's early morning in Tondoria. Apalahala is washing his motorcycle and at the same time admires his newly acquired Toyota Camry 3.5 horsepower given to him by Agama) Apalahala: Allah! Lore nga na da kew (this car is very beautiful). My only problem is how I am going to fuel it. Even my motorcycle, sometimes I am left in the middle of the road due to shortage of fuel. This car will definitely require more than just one gallon of petrol. Just look at the stress Agama has put me through. Ah well! I am not alone in this. Even Aguzu is equally suffering. Hahaha! Sometimes, his car runs out of fuel between three to four times from his house to the office. I can't complain much. Alhamdulillah for everything. At least, this is better than a motorcycle. (Apalahala learns that Little Fly has lobbied for jobs for some friends in New Tondoria Electoral Area. He informs Agama who is visibly worried that none of the lists he is p...

Aki and Popo are two brothers who can be described as key loyalists of Agama. They lost their sister who recently voted for Agama and the NDC in December 7. The whole Abendada community turned out for the funeral. All eyes are on two reserved seats) Popo: It seems the seats are not enough. Let me order extra chairs. (Sufficient chairs are brought in almost at the blink of an eye) Aki: (eyes teary) I can't believe my little sister is really dead? Wow! This life is not fair. Unbelievable! Hmmm!  Little Fly: Don't cry bro! Be strong! We love Nani but God loves her more.  (NDC executives and functionaries are present including an immediate past MCE for Tondoria and a former deputy regional Women's Organiser for GA. Two reserved seats are still unoccupied. All funeral rites completed. Nani's remains are conveyed...

Image
Politics of Deceit, Betrayal and Unkept Promises Chapter 7 continues (Part 2) (Flashback to the branch elections held at the Tiny Flowers. Agama is present; Maame Gyata is present. Ward coordinator and the constituency election committee is present. The purpose of the meeting is to elect new branch executives for the National Democratic Congress at Agama's Electoral Area. The battle line is drawn. It is a straight contest between Agama's poorly financed candidates and Lawyer's candidates. Agama wins a couple and loses a couple of votes. It is now the turn of the branch organizer and it is clear that Potoo will lose to his rival who is a carpenter, almost unknown in the area. Potoo keeps calling his supporters to come and vote, but the election committee had no choice than to carry on with the election.  Maame Gyata paces up and down, clearly worried about this particular election. She takes her phone, calls people to come and vote for Potoo. She is now visibly shivering. Sh...

The book Title: Politics of Deceit, Betrayal and Unkept Promises  Excerpt of Chapter 7   (The biggest opposition party, the NDC is holding its constituency conferences to elect executives across the nation to represent its interest. A general election is held in Tondoria Constituency. The party office is crowded with people) Agama the Big Lizard: My fellow comrades, let me use this medium to thank you for your hardwork and service to our party. Thank you all! I will be very  brief. I am not going to bore you with lengthy speech. Papa Alhassan, please step forward. In this election, I want you  to vote and retain all incumbent executives (raising the hand of Chairman Papa Alhassan. The crowd could be heard booing at the background. Papa Alhassan is the incumbent chairman for Tondoria).  (An hour after the general meeting, a conversation ensued between Agama and Little Fly) Little Fly: Bro, do you think it was a good idea to make that decision. Aren't you afraid there might be backla...

Is Little Fly a rag, a nobody?

Image
Politics of Deceit, Betrayal and Unkept Promises Excepts of Chapter 3 (People treat you exactly how they feel about you. Don't be blind. Agama is not different. He treats his workers and team members according to how he feels about them. Little Fly was not an exception. He gives a bicycle if he feels it fits you, etc) Little Fly: (to himself) I have been a loyal member of the National Democratic Congress since 1998 when I turned 18. In fact, I became NDC by virtue of my mother and sisters who identified as NDC in no other place than the strong hold of the New Patriotic Party, Ashanti Region. Growing up in my community, only my big sister and one Kaya Maame were the people I saw wearing NDC t-shirt. This did not deter me from becoming a die hard member of the NDC. I have since been a member of the NDC till today, In spite of several temptations by elements of the NPP such as Steven Amoah to cajole me to join the NPP with the promise to get me into inner circles of Akufo Addo's t...

Agama the Big Lizard and the Little Fly part 3

Image
The book Title: Politics of Deceit, Betrayal and Unkept Promises Chapter 1 ending Little Fly: (to himself) ¢500? How? Okay, I can see that Agama actually counted my family and paid me according to our number. Myself, my wife and 3 children, you see we are five in number, meaning each of us will get ¢100 each per month. In a shock I actually phoned Agama with the intent to complain about the money, but he did not respond to the call. Of course, I knew he never picked his calls, not even calls from Mr John Dramani Mahama. I was not bothered. I decided to text him on Whatsapp. Bro, this money is woefully insufficient. Respectfully, can you do something about it? I know we are in opposition so things are a little hard but I was not expecting anything less than ¢1000. The message was blue ticked meaning he had read the message. (In spite of lodging a complaint, Agama continued paying the same amount. From the discussions, it was obvious all the staffers received the same amount with the exc...

This is the continuation of the chapter of my yet to be published book I shared earlier in the morning. Give me your thoughts on it. Book Title: Politics of Deceit Betrayal and Unkept Promises Author: Paramza Kofi Hamza Chapter 1 continues Agama the Big Lizard and the Little Fly (Flashback to when Agama held a meeting with his team and told them he needed someone with masters to be his research assistant. After distributing 5kg rice and few 1 litter cooking oil which did not reach everyone in the gathering, Agama proceeded to make a surprise announcement). Agama the Big Lizard: Thank you all for your kind support to me during my campaign. Without you this victory wouldn't have been possible. I want to let you know that as your member of parliament, I am entitled to choose one research assistant. This research assistant will be paid from the coffers of parliament. The eligible candidate must have masters. (The whole room was quiet as though cold water had been poured on everyone). (...
