The Unholy Cathedral

Image
It is possible. Photo credit: Joy News  When I first saw these payslips, I thought it was the usual propaganda in our politics so I ignored them hoping to see a strong worded presser from either government of Ghana or the authorities of the "unholy National Cathedral" condemning my good friend Malik Basintale for defaming an innocent man. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Instead, hungry NPP guys kept saying that the payslips were fake until now. Now that it has been confirmed that people are being paid for non existing unholy cathedral, what will the hungry defenders say? Everything is possible under the reign of Akufo Addo and Bawumiah and it appears a lot is hidden from us. When the frog finally gives up the ghost, we will see its full length. From Cecilia Dapaa hiding money under her bed to Cathedral leadership having multiple passports with different names and dates of birth, everything is indeed possible. I have lost words to describe a government such as this! And ...

Tell organized labour we are not fools like them

Image
Charles Bissue (Secretary, IMCIM) Akufo Addo and Dr. Bawumiah can never stop illegal mining otherwise known as galamsey. Never! Considering all the steps taken by this incompetent government since its inception in 2017 and its desire to fight illegal mining and the accompanying controversies. Only fools will believe them again! Oh yeah! But we are not fools. Maybe, some organized labour are. 😀Let me use this medium to refresh your memory a bit because it is obvious that most Ghanaians have short memory. Prof. Frimpong Boateng (former Minister of Environment) Do you recall the establishment of the Inter Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM)? The secretary of that committee was Charles Bissue. Do you remember how he was videoed taken bribe to facilitate illegal mining licenses? Do you remember how president Akufo Addo cleared him of any wrong doing? Have you forgotten Horace Ekow Ewusi, the former NPP regional vice chairman and how he was also indicted by Tiger Eye? Mahama Will Not Discriminate

Image
Mahama's Building The Ghana We Want Together 2024 Manifesto Agenda emphasizes unity and oness of Ghana as a nation. Historically, NDC has always been the political party that welcomes everyone regardless of origin, tribe or religion. It doesn't matter whether you are rich or poor, the NDC would accept you. The theme of this 2024 manifesto aims at reemphasizimg these significant values. That is the NDC is not a party for a specific tribe or group. It is a party for all. Considering Mahama's contribution to the development of Ashanti Region in the past, a region largely viewed as an opposition backyard, it is easier to accept the notion that Mahama will not discriminate against anyone or any region should he be reelected as president of Ghana. There is a certain perception that the NDC is a party for Ewes and Northerners. This is a false perception considering the overall success of the NDC across the country. The NDC has broken through all aspects of sectarianism, tribalism ...

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE! Bawumiah is not going to be possible

Image
The first time I heard of 1 district 1 factory, 1 village 1 dam, 1 constituency 1 million dollars, agenda 111, I heard them from the lips of Bawumiah. It was this same Bawumiah who lied to the people of Central Region that the NPP would build them an airport. It was all a grand deception and lies! This same Bawumiah pretended to be a staunch economist, gave series of deceptive lectures, only to metamorphose into a "digital kinping". Disgrace! Apparently, all the noise he made was mere book knowledge. Now, he doesn't want to be called an economic wizkid. Ha! The most interesting observation I have made about Bawumiah is that in spite of claiming to be a Muslim and representing Muslims in the Jubilee House, he has never made a statement in defense of Islam on any controversial issue; not on LGBT, not on hijab, not on police brutality on Muslims, nothing. If I am wrong, correct me. In fact, he has attended more Sunday church services than Friday Jummah prayers. To be sincere...

University Lecturers Campaigning For John Mahama?

Image
Some University of Ghana lecturers including my very good friend Abdul Karim took it upon themselves to openly canvass for support for John Mahama and the NDC on the streets of Accra on Tuesday. This is unprecedented, and the reason is simple. Ghana is facing an unprecedented hardship never experienced before by anyone alive since independence in 1957. We have never been in a situation where a whole minister of state steals state money, hides it under her bed, get caught and the president of the land congratulates her for being a smart thief*. This is why even lecturers are on the street campaigning for NDC to return to power. We have never been in a situation where the dollar to the cedi ratio jumps from ¢3.8 to 16.5 in just 7 years. We have never been in a situation where a loaf of sugar bread jumps from ¢5 to ¢15 and above in just 7 years of maladministration, theft and corruption. We have never been in a situation where a ball of kenkey jumps from ¢1 to 4 cedi and above. This kind ...

The Unblemished Third John

Image
Listening to John Mahama in 2024, one could see a man who is passionate about youth unemployment which has bedevilled nation particularly in the last 7 years; one could see a man who is passionate about women empowerment; one could sense a man who is passionate about the security and protection of journalists such as Manasseh and Anas; one could sense a man who has deep love for Ghana. The NPP administration has benefited a lot from his policy of consistent verification of workers payslips which has to a large extent cleaned the payroll and rooted out corruption. This John Mahama promised to fix our perennial dumsor dumsor which hitherto was an albatross hanging around the necks of every president who preceded him due to our over reliance on Hydro Electric Power and he did it by introducing alternative power generators. The NPP has added nothing.  This John Mahama pledged to build 200 Community Day Senior High Schools to prepare the grounds for a free senior high school education in ...
